Bangkok is the capital of Thailand, the official name of which is Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (City of Angels) or Bangkok Metropolis has been the capital of Thailand since 1782, the year that King Rama I established himself as the first king of the Chakri Dynasty. The founding of Bangkok started, in 1782, with the construction of the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo). The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo are the landmark of Thailand, Guests or Tourists should be the first place to visit.
Wat Mahathat. The first classed royal monastery of Ratchaworawiharn, Maha Nikaya sect. It was a royal temple in Thonburi period.
The National Museum of Bangkok. The prehistoric objects were displayed together with Ban Chiang artifacts, the origin of Thais, the economic, culture, tradition development of the country from the past to present.
Phra Sumeru Fortress was built in the reign of King Rama I. it was made from bricks coated with cement in octagonal-shaped.
Wat Chanasongkram. This temple is an old monastery was built before the first reign of Rattanakosin (before 1782). In the reign of King Rama I, Somdet Phra Bowonratchao Mahasurasinghanat granted Mon people and monks to live in the area, renovated the temple to be residence of Mon monks.
Mahakarn Fortress is a big octagonal-shaped fort. Its width measured from the outside base from north to south is 38 meters. The structure is made from bricks coated with cement.
Wat Bovornniwet Wiharn. This monastery is a first grade royal temple of Ratchaworawiharn, which was built in the reign of King Rama III. Enshrined PhraUbosot is a brazen Buddha image named Phra Phuttha Chinnasi in the attitude of Subduing Mara posture. The image was shifted from Wat Phrasri Rattana Mahathat in Phitsanulok province.
The Golden Mount Stupa or Phra Chedi Phukhao Thong. This religious monument is in the form of a golden stupa built on the top of a man-made hill seventy-six meters high.
